Blog Sir Walter Raleigh, the motorcyclist

We’ve had fun helping the City of Raleigh Museum (COR Museum) pull together this month’s “Bobbers, Baggers & Bikers” exhibit on the history of motorcycling in Raleigh. We uncovered 100 years of motorcycle culture with lots of biker facts, portraits of riders, and five of the coolest historic bikes in North Carolina.

In the process of gathering stories and artifacts, we thought it would be fun to create a fictitious “club” for museum visitors to join. Hence, the Royal Sir Walter Motorcycle Club, complete with an official seal for t-shirts, stickers and such. Check out the coolest interpretation of Sir Walter in Raleigh history, where every piece of swag supports COR Museum programming.
