Blog Misner Team Succeeds at Kayakalon Challenge

Sound Rivers’ 10th Annual Race for the River “Kayakalon” is the area’s most unique sprint triathlon. Unique in that it replaces the typical swimming segment with a kayak. Participants start off the race with a 1.5 mile kayak, followed by a 15.6 mile bike ride, and then end with a 3.1 mile run.

The event is hosted by Sound Rivers, a grassroots nonprofit working to monitor, protect and preserve the waterways covering 23% of our state. Clean water is essential to our communities for consumption, recreation, nature preservation and agricultural use.

Laken and Scott traveled to Washington, N.C. to take part in this team-building exercise held in beautiful Goose Creek State Park.

Beyond participating in this fun event, our team helped client Sound Rivers design the 10th anniversary Kayakalon logo. This vibrant and geometrically alive icon embodies the beauty of activity on land and water thanks to mother nature.

We’re proud to support of the protection of nature along the Tar-Pamlico and Neuse Rivers and their tributaries for enjoyment today and for generations to come.
